  • Help New York City Achieve Zero Waste by 2030

The Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board (MSWAB) is a volunteer citizens’ advisory board dedicated to helping Manhattan contribute to New York City's zero waste goals.

Join a Public Learning Session on the DSNY 2026 Solid Waste Management Plan

The 2026 Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) is a 10-year blueprint that outlines how NYC manages waste and recycling, evaluates future strategies, and sets goals to reduce waste and build a cleaner, fairer, and more climate-resilient system. The SWMP impacts every neighborhood across all five boroughs of NYC.

The Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Bronx Solid Waste Advisory Boards are hosting a series of Learning Sessions, open to all residents, to understand priorities and gather feedback that will be shared with Department of Sanitation to be incorporated into the plan.
