This is a workshop for all who want to learn something about urban gardening!
We will discuss the components of soil and methods to maintain and create healthy soil within our urban environment. A hands-on activity of compost processing will occur along with compost application within the neighborhood garden. This application of compost into plants beds enhances and improves soil quality and the health to local ecosystems.
What to bring: gloves and tools will be provided but please bring your own water and snacks. Kindly wear shoes (not sandals).
RSVP to the workshop here!
This opportunity is provided through ioby (Healthy Neighborhoods Challenge), NYS Health Foundation, Children's Garden & El Sol Brillante Community Garden, and to Shig (superstar community gardener & composter) who is co-faciliating this event!
