Design. Repair. Reuse. Collaborate.
Developing NYC’s Circular Economy
For the 10th year, the annual donateNYC Partnership Conference, presented by NYC Center for Materials Reuse and funded by NYC Department of Sanitation, will provide an opportunity for local, nonprofit donations and reuse organizations to come together to discuss best practices, shared challenges, and explore collaboration opportunities with one another as well as other local entities.
This conference is the only one of its kind in New York City dedicated to supporting materials reuse and the organizations that collect donated goods for social and environmental concerns. Materials reuse, second-hand donations, and effectively capturing manufactured surplus goods play an integral role in the City reaching its goal of sending zero waste to landfills by 2030.
The 2017 annual donateNYC Partnership Conference will focus on the concept of a circular economy and the essential role donations and reuse play. This year’s conference agenda will explore product repair and the need for designing goods more thoughtfully for longevity; allowing for participants to obtain information and insight into further developing a closed-loop system right here in New York City and achieving zero waste. Presentations will demonstrate prime examples of what some pioneering material manufacturers are doing to minimize waste and take responsibility for the after lives of their materials.
The annual donateNYC Partnership Conference is by invitation only. Registration is required to attend.
